Rachel Bower

Rachel Bower has worked as a director, camera operator, and editor for the National Film Board, Outdoor Life Network, CBC and CTV.  Choosing subjects of deep personal interest and connection she has worked on documentaries in the Middle East, Africa, Ukraine, Romania, and North America.

Rachel won a National Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) Dave Rogers Award for Best Short Feature and a Maritime Philanthropy Award Outstanding Special Event. She also founded the JRG Society for the Arts, which is a Canadian charity who provides support to artists with disabilities.

Her documentaries have been screened at dozens of film festivals around the world. In The Same Boat won Best Documentary at the 2012 Silver Wave Film Festival and The Singing Lumberjack, produced by the NFB, won Best Documentary at the 2015 Silver Wave Film Festival.

Rohan Fernando

Rohan Fernando’s first documentary, Cecil’s Journey, won Best Film at the Atlantic International Film Festival and was nominated for a Gemini Award. His other feature documentaries include Trudeau’s Other Children, Blood and Water, and The Chocolate Farmer, which had its world premiere at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival and enjoyed a highly successful festival run worldwide. Snow marked Fernando’s feature drama debut. It premiered at Cinequest and opened the 2011 Reelworld Film Festival. Fernando was most recently the creative producer for the NFB’s Space School with Canadian superstar astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield and now serves as a producer for the Quebec and Atlantic Studio.

Annette Clarke

Annette Clarke is an accomplished producer whose award-winning films challenge stereotypes and bring diverse voices to the forefront. For the past 25 years, she has collaborated with both emerging and established talent to tell powerful, transformative stories. As Executive Producer for NFB’s Quebec-Atlantic studio, Annette has met cattle rustlers in Kenya, foreign workers in Labrador, the endangered bluefin tuna, rock-star chefs decrying food waste, and an animated young girl who copes with her mom’s mental illness by losing herself in the imaginary world of books. Annette’s recent producer credits include Vive la rose (2009, TIFF and Sundance), The Chocolate Farmer (2010, Hot Docs, RIDM), Flawed (2010, Hot Docs, Silverdocs, double honours at PSIFF, Emmy nomination), The Boxing Girls of Kabul (2011, IDFA and CSA for best documentary short), Hard Light(2012, FIFA Jury Award), Buying Sex (2013, Hot Docs), Danny (2014, Hot Docs Big Ideas series), 54 Hours (2014, Yorkton Founder’s Award),Gunrunners (2015, Hot Docs) and Hand.
